For the first time, Nepali climbers have reached the South Pole. After a journey of 111 kilometers, they reached the South Pole of Antarctica. Also called 'Last Degree'. It is also the southernmost point of the earth.
Three brothers Mingma, Chhang Dawa, and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa reached the South Pole at the same time and even set a record. Along with them, Nirmal Purja and Karma Tenzing have also reached the South Pole. Tasilakpa Sherpa said in a telephone call from Chile that he reached the South Pole in seven days after walking 111 kilometers. They arrived at the South Pole on January 2.
They started their journey from 89 degrees. From there, they covered a distance of 111 kilometers on foot in 7 days. He is the first Nepali to reach there on foot. Three brothers from the same family also reached the South Pole for the first time. There was an adventurous journey that had to be done constantly on foot in minus 35/40 degrees but they have made history by completing it. They did not need oxygen at the South Pole, as in the high mountains, but they flew from the South Pole back to Union Glacier.
Their current plan is to reach the North Pole. They walked 14/15 kilometers daily in the snow of Antarctica. It was a very exciting journey for them. They were with three brothers. A long journey in the snow. They have completed a journey. They are leaving soon for another trip.
After reaching the South Pole, his team climbed Mount Antarctica's highest mountain, Vinson (4,892 m). Mingma, Chhangdawa, and Tasilakpa Sherpa are three brothers from the same family who reached Vinson Mountain. They successfully climbed the mountain on January 13. Nirmal Purja and Karma Tenzing have also successfully climbed Vinson Mountain at the same time. Nirmal Purja had set a record by climbing all the 14 mountains above 8,000 meters in seven months.
They completed the Vinson Mountaineering in three days. They kissed at 6:30 pm Chile time. On December 13, they left Kathmandu for the Antarctic Mission. They arrived in Chile after completing a month-long Antarctica mission.
Earlier, Ming and Chhangdawa have successfully climbed 14 mountains in the world. At the age of 19, Tasilakpa set a world record by climbing Mount Everest without oxygen.
For the first time, Bhuvan Bahadur Nepali arrived in Antarctica. He joined the Indian Army and joined the Sixth Scientific Expeditionary Force of India in November 1986. He spent 20 months in Antarctica twice. Arjun Kumar Thapa, a Nepali serving in the Indian Army, also reached the South Pole in 2011. He had been selected for the adventurous journey of the Indian Army.
