The Curriculum Development Center has prepared a new textbook for class 11 according to the changed curriculum. The center has prepared a book on three compulsory subjects with the help of experts. According to Ganesh Bhattarai, director of the center, a book on compulsory Nepali, English, and social issues has been prepared.
"These books will be sent to the printing press for printing within a year," said Bhattarai. There will be three compulsory and three elective subjects. The center will only print compulsory books. Which will be printed in the printing press of Janak Education Materials Center.
An optional subject book will be written by an external author. But the books written in the format of the curriculum prescribed by the center will be available in the market only after the approval of the center. There will be more than one hundred elective subjects in 11th and 12th classes. Out of them, the syllabus of the main subjects of the student's choice has been prepared. Bhattarai said that courses of some subjects are being prepared.
The center has also changed the textbook of class 1 with effect from this year. Books up to class 12 will be returned within the year 2080. The style of teaching has also changed after the government merged classes 1 to 12 at the school level. With this change, students who have studied in one school in class 11 will be able to go to another school for class 12. Because the new curriculum has made it compulsory to study the subject in class 11 even in class 12.
