Teachers Service Commission Releases Results for Lower Secondary Level Teacher Exam
In a significant announcement on Saturday, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC - Shikshak Sewa Aayog) released the results of the open competitive written examination for the post of lower secondary level, third category teachers. The examination, which took place across all seven provinces on April 22, 2024, aimed to fill 840 vacancies in nine different subjects.
A total of 14,677 candidates from Koshi Province participated in the exam, with 3,743 successfully passing. Similarly, in Madhesh Province, 1,197 of the 4,585 participants passed. The exam saw 3,832 of the 12,506 candidates in Bagmati Province clearing the hurdle, while Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces also posted significant numbers of successful candidates.
The TSC has announced that subject-specific written tests for qualified candidates will be conducted on August 26, 2024. The following locations will serve as examination centers:
- Morang District for Koshi Province,
- Dhanusha for Madhesh Province,
- Makwanpur for Bagmati Province,
- Dang for Lumbini Province,
- Kaski for Gandaki Province,
- Surkhet for Karnali Province,

Despite the recent governmental reorganization of the educational system into just primary and secondary levels, the TSC continues to use the previous classification system to appoint teachers at the primary, lower secondary, and secondary levels. Under this system, lower secondary school teachers are responsible for educating students up to class 8.
This announcement is part of the TSC’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational standards and address teacher shortages throughout the country. As the selected candidates gear up for their next round of testing, the commission remains committed to maintaining a rigorous and transparent selection process to ensure the highest standards of educational excellence.
