The teachers of schools in Kabilasi Municipality, Sarlahi have gone on strike as they have not been paid their salaries for the past six months. The protest has caused the closure of all schools in the municipality until further notice. Rajesh Kumar Yadav, City Co-Chairman of the Teacher's Association, has stated that the teachers will continue their strike until they receive their salaries.

On Tuesday, teachers across the city sat on a dharna in front of the municipal office, and submitted a memorandum to the municipality demanding their salaries. There are a total of 32 community schools in the municipality, out of which seven are high schools and the rest are basic schools. Currently, 230 teachers, seven school staff, and 30 office assistants are working in these schools.

Punam Karna, Deputy Mayor of the city, has assured that the problem will be resolved soon. According to Karna, the issue has arisen due to the absence of the chief administrative officer and the accountant. Karna explained that the teachers have not been paid on time because the chief administrative officer and accountant have not been coming to the municipal office regularly. The Chief Administrative Officer, Uday Devkota, has been absent from the office for about 15-20 days, as per Karna's statement.
