Suryodaya Municipality Launches Employment Program for Scholarship-Educated Women

Suryodaya Municipality has introduced an innovative employment program, providing 100 days of work to daughters and daughters-in-law who have benefited from the city's scholarship program for higher education. This initiative is a part of the municipality's effort to empower women, particularly those who have pursued their undergraduate studies at Karfok Bidya Mandir Multiple Campus under the scholarship scheme. For the last four years, the municipality has been offering full scholarships to married women in the city, aiming to promote the idea that education should continue after marriage.

Mayor Ran Bahadur Rai expressed that the employment opportunity, though short-term, is a strategic move to encourage women who have excelled in their scholarship program. It is designed not only to provide them with work experience but also to inspire other women in the community to pursue higher education. The employment will be provided in various sectors, including city and sub-offices, schools, and health institutions, tailored to match the women's academic backgrounds and skills in fields like education, humanities, management, and computers.

So far, the scholarship program has seen significant success, with 153 daughters-in-law completing their graduate studies. Gopal Kattel, the head of Karfok Bidya Mandir Multiple Campus, noted that this year alone, 23 scholarship recipients graduated, and the program is expected to expand further, with an anticipated enrollment of 200 daughters-in-law next year. This initiative not only brings academic opportunities to women from remote areas but also integrates them into the workforce, thereby enhancing their personal and professional development.
