Urgent Guidelines for Submitting Proposals to the President's Educational Reform Program
In a significant move to enhance the education system, the Government of Nepal has issued an urgent call for proposals under the President's Educational Reform Program. This initiative, guided by the Board of Directors' decision on 2080/09/29, seeks participation from public schools across the nation. The deadline for proposal submission is 2080/10/29, emphasizing the need for timely and strategic action.
Key Focus Areas for Proposal Submission
The program prioritizes several areas, each targeting specific educational needs:
-
Development of School Physical Infrastructure: Aimed at constructing 4-room school buildings for 74 schools nationwide, enhancing educational facilities and providing conducive learning environments.
-
Advancement in Technology and Resources: Grants are available for establishing IT labs, science labs, and libraries in 594 schools. This initiative aims to equip students with modern educational tools and resources.
-
Expansion of Technical Education: Specifically focusing on areas lacking technical education facilities, the program seeks to broaden access and opportunities for technical learning.
Criteria for School Physical Infrastructure Development
Schools are selected based on several criteria, including:
- Schools in 32 earthquake-affected districts, particularly those in 14 intensively reconstructed districts.
- Schools in metropolitan cities and those that have received construction aid from international donors in the last 3 years.
- Schools currently under construction or involved in multi-story building projects within the last 3 years.
- Schools participating in the Model School Development Program.
Grants for IT, Science Labs, and Libraries
Eligibility for these grants extends to schools outside the 14 earthquake-affected districts. Recommendations should focus on schools lacking such facilities and consider the student population size.
Technical Education Expansion
Local levels without technical education programs are encouraged to recommend schools for this initiative, prioritizing areas with low human development indices.
