Importance of Vocational and Moral Education for Children and Youth: Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal Emphasizes Scouts' Role

Dev Raj Ghimire, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, recently highlighted the significance of vocational and moral education for children and youth. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 6th Asia Pacific Regional Messenger of Peace program, he stated that scouts could fulfill this need.

Limited Investment in Scout Programs:

Speaker Ghimire observed that only a few states are investing in the field of scouts despite the pressing need for vocational and moral education for children and youth worldwide. He emphasized that all countries should increase their investment in this area.

Scouts for All-Round Development:

According to Speaker Ghimire, scouting was established in Nepal in 1953 to make children and youth disciplined, self-reliant, characterful, and to participate in the development of the country as good citizens. He emphasized that scouts are working towards the all-round development of children by conducting various programs. Among them, the Messenger of Peace (MOP) program is focused on building a global network to maintain peace and advocate for peace around the world.

Increasing Awareness of Scout Campaign:

Speaker Ghimire stressed the need to make the new generation aware of the Scout campaign from a young age to envision a beautiful future for the world. He pointed out that the best way to do this is through scouting.

Speaker Ghimire urged that such scout programs should be increased in the future for the all-round development of children. He believes that everyone should make the scout's campaign worthwhile to envision a beautiful future.
