Sitaram Hachhethu Appointed Metropolitan Police Chief:
Lalitpur Metropolitan City has appointed former Inspector of Traffic Police Sitaram Hachethu as the Chief of Metropolitan Police. Hachhethu, who is considered capable and successful in managing traffic, was appointed by the metropolis on Sunday with the responsibility of managing the municipal police and fire brigade.
Chief of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan said that he was brought in to make the capacity of the city police more efficient. "People are impressed by his work ethic, his style of working," said Maharjan, the mayor.
Chief Maharjan expressed confidence that his long experience in the traffic police would make the municipal police of Lalitpur metropolis more efficient and Hachethu's role important in making it a model municipal police.
Maharjan clarified that Hachethu has been appointed as an expert to implement the metropolitan level traffic management plan prepared by the metropolis while managing the traffic.
Hachhethu retired from the service of traffic police in the month of Mangsir in 2075 BS. Hachhethu, who has spent 29 years in the field, said the new responsibilities give him the energy to do more.
"We have a new responsibility," he said. "This responsibility and faith have given us the energy to do something new again."
