Significant Improvement in SEE Exam Results 2080 in Community Schools Under Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Engineer Shailendra Jha of the Urban Planning Commission reported notable improvements in the SEE examination results for 2080. Among students from community schools in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, 545 students (13.77 percent) achieved a GPA of 3.61 to 4, a significant increase from the 150 students (3.83 percent) who reached this milestone last year. This reflects a 259 percent improvement year-over-year.

  • Exam Participation: This year, 3,959 students from 58 community schools took the exam, with 3,086 students (78 percent) passing. However, 873 students (22 percent) will need to retake the exam.

  • GPA 3.60 to 3.21: 1,050 students (26.52 percent) scored within this range, up from 488 students (12.45 percent) last year, indicating a 113 percent increase.
  • GPA 3.20 to 2.81: 1,080 students (27.28 percent) achieved this GPA, compared to 809 students (20.63 percent) last year, marking a 32 percent rise.
  • GPA 2.80 to 2.41: This year, 395 students (9.98 percent) scored within this range, down from 982 students (25.04 percent) last year.
  • GPA 2.40 to 2.01: Only 16 students (0.40 percent) fell into this GPA bracket, a significant decrease from 923 students (23.54 percent) last year.

Top Performers from Vishwa Niketan

Four students from Vishwa Niketan Secondary School in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu, achieved a perfect GPA of 4, the highest among Nepal's community schools. Additionally, three students from Gyanodaya Secondary School in Bafal, two from Ratna Rajya Secondary School in Mid Baneshwor, and one from Tarun Secondary School in Balaju also achieved a GPA of 4. In total, 10 students from these four schools attained this top GPA.
