Newly Appointed Education, Science, and Technology Minister Shishir Khanal has taken charge. After taking the oath of office and secrecy at the President's Office Sheetal Niwas, he went to Singh Darbar and took office.

After assuming office in the Ministry of Education today, giving a brief response to the media, the newly appointed Minister Khanal clarified that he will bring necessary policies and programs to improve the educational quality of the country based on his previous experience in the field of education.
Expressing the commitment that the necessary process to bring the Federal Education Act and the University Umbrella Act will be taken forward, the Minister of Education Khanal expressed the opinion of arranging the necessary textbooks in time along with adjusting the posts of teachers, and making necessary policy arrangements in favor of the overall development and quality improvement of the education sector based on post-Covid learning and experience.
Khanal, who is one of the founders of Teach for Nepal, has been working on improving education in remote areas. Khanal, who headed 'Teach for Nepal', campaigned for the reform of public education before joining politics.
Khanal Tokha, 43, is a resident of 10 Gongbu. He holds a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Wisconsin, USA. He has done remarkable work in social development and natural disaster management in Sri Lanka, India, America, and other places through the Sarvodaya campaign based on Mahatma Gandhi's ideas.
His contribution in creating access to quality education for more than 50,000 students studying in government schools by establishing and leading the successful 'Teach for Nepal' to do the most effective work in the educational sector of Nepal has been remarkable.
