The National Examination Board, Examination Control Office has set up 2,027 examination centers for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) 2078. Examinations will be held in 11,375 schools. The highest number of 124 centers has been set up in 1,300 schools in Kathmandu.
The information was given at a meeting of the National Examination Board held on Wednesday. A total of 494,681 students are participating in this year's examination. NEB has kept all the details secret till now. The highest number of 36,000 students will participate in the examination in Kathmandu. In Lalitpur, 34 centers have been set up in 334 schools.
There will be 10,272 candidates in Lalitpur. In Bhaktapur, 23 centers have been set up in 195 schools. In Bhaktapur, 5,927 candidates will participate. At least one examination center has been set up in Mustang and one in Manang. 29 candidates are participating in Manang and 183 candidates are participating in Mustang.
Surkhet of Karnali Province, Kanchanpur of Sudurpashchim Province, Morang of Province-1, Dhanusha of Madhesh Province, Kathmandu of Bagmati, Kaski of Gandaki, and Dang of Lumbini have the highest number of participants. NEB has decided not to send question papers for this year's exams online.
The meeting of NEB has decided to print the question paper in the security printing house of Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited. For that, a team including Arjun Bahadur Rayamajhi, Controller of Examinations for Class 10 will reach Janak Education Materials Center. The team will stay in the secret room of the center for about 25 days. The question paper will be released only after it is printed. The board has already decided to send a team to print the question papers.
Earlier, NEB chairperson Dr. Mahashram Sharma had said that the examination would be conducted by printing alternative and question papers. A meeting of the rap board held on Wednesday has decided to print all the question papers. About 500,000 sets of question papers are being prepared for the examination.
Question papers will be printed in the security press of Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited. The question papers will be printed by about 40 employees of Janak Education Materials Center within the three-tier security circle including the Nepal Army, Armed Forces, and Nepal Police. Question papers will be printed within the security perimeter of about 75 security personnel including about 30 APF Nepal and 45 Nepal Police under the leadership of Major of Nepal Army.
The team including the controller will go out for the final preparation of the exam only after the question papers of the states and other centers are packed from the secret room of Janak Education Materials. The SEE examination will be conducted from the 9th to the 20th of Baishakh 2079. The examination will be conducted from 8 am.
