Science Laboratory Established at Kalika Secondary School, Badki, Jumla
A science laboratory has been established at Kalika Secondary School in Badki Village, Hima Rural Municipality-1, Sinja region, Jumla. The laboratory was set up with the coordination of the rural municipality and the support of partner organizations, as informed by Principal Khamba Shahi.
Under the Empowered Girls Project operated in partnership with Plan Nepal and Pace Nepal, science laboratory materials worth approximately five lakh rupees have been handed over to the school. According to Kishor Nyaupane, the Executive Director of Pace Nepal Jumla, the materials were handed over to the school by the Central Vice President of the Rural Municipality Federation and Chairman of Hima Rural Municipality, Laxman Bahadur Shahi. The aim of establishing the science laboratory is to improve the quality of education for children.
Chairman Laxman Shahi expressed gratitude to the partner organizations for their support in managing the science laboratory materials to bring about improvements in the students' education. He stated that the science laboratory materials would enhance the students' learning experience.
Principal Khamba Shahi mentioned that the previously existing materials in the school and the partner sister organizations have been integrated to start a well-organized laboratory. He noted that with the provision of science materials worth five lakh rupees, the laboratory will be systematically organized.
Pace Nepal, with financial support from Plan International and coordination from the municipality, has also managed Model Classrooms 1 and 2 in the same school under the Empowered Children Project. On Wednesday, a team comprising the chairman, vice-chairman, and ward chairman of the rural municipality inspected the managed model classrooms at Kalika Secondary School.
