Schools in Okhaldhunga Resumed Classes:
Schools that were closed due to the spread of the coronavirus have reopened after nine months. The schools came into operation after the government of Nepal issued the Easy Learning Directive 2077.
Bhim Prasad Mishra, unit head of the Education Development and Coordination Unit Office, Okhaldhunga, said that the schools have started operating on the basis of Easy Learning Guideline 2077 BS. He said that all the community and institutional schools in the district have come into operation since Mangsir 25.
Although it is said that education is being conducted by adopting health criteria based on the number of students, the risk of infection is higher when some schools are operating without adopting health criteria. Although every village education department has written to the concerned schools to provide mandatory masks, sanitizers, and handwashing soap water in the open schools, the schools have not been found to have done so.
Earlier, most of the work done by the District Education Office was handed over to the local bodies and due to the lack of coordination by the local level education branch, some statistics and details have not been available. Mishra said that the education department officials did not coordinate with the unit even though it was at every local level. According to the Education Coordination Unit, Okhaldhunga, all 331 community and 33 institutional schools in the district have come into operation.
