School Operating Rights Given to the Management Committee in Karnali Pradesh:
The Karnali Province government is preparing to give the right to re-operate the school to the concerned school management committee in coordination with the local level.
Despite the federal government's decision to close educational institutions across the country from March 24 after the coronavirus (Covid-19) infection, the school management committee is being given the right to do so due to a lack of clear policy. The concerned officials have said that it would be appropriate to give responsibility to the school in coordination with the local level when the government has taken a policy of not setting a clear date for the re-operation of the school.
Karnali Province Chief Secretary Teknarayan Pandey said that it would be too late for the government to decide when to open a school. At a virtual dialogue on learning organized by the Federation of Community School Management Committees in Nepal on Sunday, Chief Secretary Pandey said that the school management committee would be given the responsibility. He informed that the school has been prepared to run the school with proper coordination and facilitation at the local level. He said that there should be no delay in running the school to show that the state is present at the local level.
On the occasion, Community School Management Committee Federation of Nepal President Krishna Thapa expressed confidence that the school operation environment would be created only if the local level and school management committees and teachers could be made responsible.
