School Level New Academic Session in Nepal Starting from June 15, 2021

The school-level new academic session in Nepal starting across the country from today (15th June 2021). A new academic session will be started for students from all over the country studying up to class 10 by completing the final internal assessment of the students and publishing the results.

Due to Corona (Covid-19) infection, reading could not be done in physical presence. But the way for students to enter new classrooms, archive (enrollment), and facilitate learning through alternative means has become easier.

According to the Education and Human Development Resource Center, the school should start archiving in the new class of students from June 15th. The school will do the archiving work in the student's classroom online, by telephone, or any other means.

The school will have to fulfill the responsibility of providing new textbooks to the students by completing the archiving work of the students by July 30. After the archiving of the students, the learning of the children will be continued through the alternative learning system.

The school should purchase textbooks from its nearest vendors and provide textbooks to the students, said Director General Aryal. Earlier, the government had instructed all the schools to prepare accordingly as the new academic session would start from June 15 after completing all the work in June.

The government has stated that it will continue to facilitate student learning through alternative methods until the corona infection becomes normal. The Center for Education and Human Development has stated that the students will be informed to take classes in their physical presence after the situation returns to normal.

Facilitating student learning through online, radio, television, etc. has been taken as an alternative method. The school will facilitate the learning of the children according to their situation.

Similarly, class 11 is starting in August. The National Examination Board has informed that the school will complete the internal assessment of the students of Class 10 Secondary Education Examination (SEE) and publish the final results by the last week of July and the new class will start from August.

Teachers should be in touch with their school and students. The center said that teachers should stay in touch with their students and the school as the work of facilitating learning through alternative means should be continued.

A new curriculum has been implemented in four classes of school level in this academic session. The curriculum development center has stated that the new curriculum will be implemented in classes 2, 3, 6, and 12. Students enrolled in the new academic session from 15th June will study the book according to the new syllabus. According to the Janak Education Materials Center, the work of printing the textbooks as per the revised syllabus is being completed and delivered to the schools. Books have been delivered to the school from 1,200 vendors of the center.

Kathmandu and Lalitpur Metropolitan City have also instructed the subordinate schools to start the new academic session from 15th June. As the Kathmandu Metropolitan City published the results of the class 8 municipal examination on Monday, the new academic session will now start smoothly, according to the Education Department of the Metropolitan City.
