Saptakoshi Multiple Campus Gets Bus Support from Barahkshetra Municipality
In an exciting development, the Barahkshetra Municipality has announced its plans to provide a dedicated college bus for students of Saptakoshi Multiple Campus. This move comes as part of the annual budget for the financial year 2080/081. The procurement process for the bus is already underway.
Why a New Bus Matters
-
Easier Commute for Students: Currently, the campus relies on a leased bus to transport students. The new bus will ease the daily commute, particularly benefiting those who come from nearby areas like Madhuvan, Prakashpur, Bharaul, and Chatra.
-
Financial Efficiency: Owning a bus would ultimately be more cost-effective than leasing one, freeing up funds that could be used for other campus improvements.
-
Facilitate Campus Maintenance: According to campus administrators, the new bus will make it easier to bring in equipment and maintain the campus lawn.
Budget Allocation
Mayor Ramesh Karki provided insights into the budget plan for this initiative. A total of 2.2 lakhs from each ward and 1.2 lakhs from the municipality have been earmarked for this purpose.
Broadening Academic Horizons
Students of Saptakoshi Multiple Campus currently have the option to study up to the graduation level. Given the lack of a local postgraduate institution, students often have to relocate to Dharan, Itahari, or Inaruwa for further studies.
To address this, the Barahkshetra Municipality has expressed its intention to introduce postgraduate programs with technical subjects at Saptakoshi Multiple Campus in the near future.
The college bus initiative for Saptakoshi Multiple Campus is more than just a convenience; it is a significant step toward making quality education accessible to students in and around Barahkshetra. This move, coupled with the proposed introduction of postgraduate studies, showcases the municipality's commitment to fostering academic excellence in the region.
