Triveni Rural Municipality has started preparing local textbooks and teaching. The textbook 'My Triveni' has been prepared and taught in all schools within the village.
The villagers stated that the curriculum has prepared a textbook covering the topics of local culture, language, people's life, history, geography, etc. Chairman of the Municipality, Man Bahadur Dangi, said that the curriculum was launched to inform the students of various parties within the village.
"We have prepared and implemented the curriculum for the purpose of linking education to life and to make the local level responsible for education," he said. The national curriculum format empowers the local level to develop local curriculum for grades 1 through 8.
The local curriculum says that it will be easier for basic students to know about the environment in which they are born. The goal is to preserve cultural, historical and economic features of the local level, he said. "With the implementation of the local curriculum, it will be easier to study and research with a specialty within the village, and it will be easier to preserve the shadowy subjects," said Dangi.
According to Chief Administrative Officer, Remant Bahadur Dangi, 29 community schools, and seven private schools are teaching the curriculum. The village is the first local level to implement its own curriculum in the district.
