Rising Interest in Studying Abroad among Nepalese Students: NOC Statistics
Statistics from the Foreign Study Permit Branch of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology show that there has been an increasing interest among Nepalese students in studying abroad.
NOC Application and Approval Process
The branch has introduced an online application system for No Objection Certificates (NOC). Once the online application is received, registration is done on the same day, and the NOC is issued on the following day. According to the Deputy Secretary of the Foreign Study Permit Branch, out of 699 online applications received on a single day, 529 applications were accepted.
NOC Issuance Numbers
In May 2022, 1,696 NOCs were issued, while in April 2023, the number rose to 14,613. The numbers have been consistently rising, with 16,348 NOCs being issued in March 2023. The highest number of NOCs have been issued for studying in Australia, Japan, America, and Canada.
