Recommendation Committee Required when Appointing a DCEO in a Bank - NRB:
Banks and financial institutions now have to form a recommendation committee for the appointment or promotion of Deputy Chief Executive Officer. NRB has made such arrangements through an integrated directive.
It is mentioned that the chairman of the recommendation committee will be the chief executive officer (CEO). Earlier, only the chief executive officer could make a recommendation. Now the committee has to be formed.
"The promotion or appointment to the post of Deputy Chief Executive shall be done by the committee on the recommendation of a sub-committee formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive," the revised directive said.
It is mentioned in the directive that in case of promotion or filling of new posts below the level of Deputy Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Executive Officer may appoint on the recommendation of the Staffing Committee constituted under the coordination of the lowest ranking official.
