Quarantine at school: can have a psychological effect on students:
Due to the Long-term quarantine at community schools for coronavirus prevention will adversely affect the concept of a peace zone for schools and children.
In a virtual dialogue organized by the Community School Management Committee Federation of Nepal (SMC Federation), it has been suggested to keep quarantine in places other than the school as it will adversely affect the psychology of teachers and students when the time comes to open the school.
At present, out of 28,000 community schools, quarantine has been set up in 4,500 and isolation rooms in 64. In some schools, the management committee and the headmaster have been informed that the local municipality has voluntarily and forcibly quarantined the school.
Chairman of the Children as Zones of Peace National Campaign (CZOP) Narendra Dangol said the government should not add such a burden to schools contrary to the School Peace Zone National Framework and Implementation Guideline 2068. Child rights activist Krishna Subedi said that if the hotels were quarantined by looking for alternative schools, the residents would also be facilitated.
Disaster expert Shyam Gyawali said that it was wrong to quarantine the school from the concept of a safe school.
SMC Federation President Krishna Thapa said that they have been urging from the beginning not to have a quarantine in the school and added that they are worried about the increasing number of quarantine in the school.
