Long Distance Transportation and Airlines Services will be Resumed After Bhadra 15:

The government is tightening adherence to health safety standards in the capital, saying the risk of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection is increasing.

Medium and long-distance transport and national and international flights will not be available yet. The government had earlier decided to open it from 1st Bhadra. Monday's cabinet meeting has decided to postpone it again till 15th Bhadra. The meeting has decided not to open the area for another 15 days as per the recommendation of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).

According to Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal, the international border will be managed and the traffic will be tightened. Only 10 checkpoints will be opened for Nepal-India border crossing. Earlier, 20 checkpoints were opened. However, the transportation of essential commodities has been kept the same. Apart from the essential transportation services, the entry of vehicles entering the valley will also be tightened.

As the number of infected people in the valley continues to rise, local levels have begun to seal off high-risk areas. A meeting of the Upatyaka mayors held on Monday has decided to close all services except the essential services provided at the local level for 15 days. The government has already operated private and public transport in the Kathmandu Valley according to the forced system. According to Minister Aryal, transportation to the valley will be tightened to make the movement of the valley more systematic.

A meeting of the CCMC on Sunday focused on short, medium and long-distance private and public transport, domestic and international commercial flights, sports training, student admissions, gatherings, training, seminars, and examinations. It was recommended to postpone till 15th Bhadra.
