Public Service Commission's Online System for Recruitment Faces Technical Issues

The Public Service Commission of Kamalpokhri, Kathmandu, has been operating an online system called Public Service Recruitment Management System (PSRMS) since 2071 BS. The system has been hosted in the infrastructure of the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC) to ensure ease of candidates applying for the Commission's advertised posts and quick execution of the administrative and managerial functions of the Commission.

Efficient Performance with PSRMS

Since the introduction of the PSRMS, the Commission's performance has become more effective. Candidates have been able to submit their applications, pay their examination fees, and print admit cards with ease. However, the online system of the Public Service Commission has been blocked since 2079/11/23 due to a problem in the storage system of GIDC.

Advertised Posts Affected

Due to this, the Commission has not been able to access the details of applications submitted for various advertised posts, such as Gazetted Third Class (Non-Technical) Section Officer (Sakha Adhikrit), Non-Gazetted First Class Non-Technical Nayab Subba, and Gazetted First Class (Non-Gazetted) Technician Nayab Subba. The commission has also been unable to access details of the fifth-level post towards health services.

Efforts to Recover Data

The National Information Technology Center, which operates GIDC, is making efforts to recover data, and the Commission is operating an online application system hosted on another infrastructure of GIDC. However, the Commission has received information that it is uncertain how much data can be recovered. Therefore, the Commission is working on an alternative plan to conduct examinations for pre-published advertisements.

Revised Exam Program

The Commission will invite only those candidates who have already paid the application fee to re-apply without having to pay any additional fee, providing reasonable time to do so. The Commission is in the process of revising the exam program and will publish the new exam program as soon as possible. A solid action plan will also be made and implemented to prevent this kind of problem from occurring in the future.
