The law related to Province Technical University brought by the Province 2 government through an ordinance has been passed by a majority. The Province Technical University Ordinance 2078 was passed by a majority in the Province Assembly meeting held on Sunday.

Ruling party Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepali Congress, CPN-Samajwadi, Maoist Center MPs were in favor of the proposal while Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LOSAPA) and CPN-UML MPs were against the law.

Parameshwar Sah, chief whip of the main opposition Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, had filed a motion against the ordinance. But more than two-thirds of the governments have succeeded in passing the law by a majority.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishor Sah said that it would take time to bring the law related to the university through the bill. Even before this, the law brought through the ordinance related to Province Agricultural University has been approved by the majority in the Province Assembly.

Speaking at the meeting, Chief Whip of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LOSAPA), Parmeshwar Sah, said that the government, which had a two-thirds majority, was afraid to repeal the law. He remarked that the government has ridiculed the values ​​of democracy by bringing laws through ordinances.

In the assembly, UML MP Kishori Sah Kamal Sah protested that the government was trying to run the province through an ordinance even though education was needed now.
