Prohibitory orders in the Valley have been extended for one week (until June 3, 2021). One week prohibitory orders have been extended with strict provisions saying that the infection rate has not decreased.

A joint meeting of the three chief district officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur on Tuesday decided to impose strict prohibitory orders for another week.

In the added prohibitory orders, vegetable, fruit, milk, meat, and gas shops will be open till 9 am. But it has been decided to close the grocery store and department store.

The operation of vehicles of government offices, banks, public institutions, and internet service providers has also been tightened. Vehicles in those areas will now be allowed to operate only from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The administration has also decided to restrict the construction work to one year. It is said that only 7 people can attend the wedding ceremony. Also, all the passes issued by the administration and other bodies so far have been canceled.

The three administration offices in the Kathmandu Valley had issued prohibitory orders for the first time from Baishakh16 to 22 that the second wave of corona infection had increased. After that, a prohibitory order was issued from 22 to 29 Baishakh and from 29 Baishakh to 13 Jestha.

Those who do not comply with the applicable prohibitory orders will be punished. It has also been decided to take action against the violators as per the recently issued COVID-19 ordinance.

The ordinance provides for action to be taken against the driver of a vehicle without permission or for the purpose of transporting the sick. In such cases, two-wheelers can pay Rs 2,000 and other vehicles Rs 5,000 to be charged fines.

There is a provision to pay a fine of Rs 100 to anyone who walks in a public place without wearing a mask. In addition, it has been said that those who go out without work can be paid Rs.
