Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa Appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University:

Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University (KU). University Chancellor and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday appointed him vice-chancellor.

He has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor on the basis of the recommendation of a three-member search committee formed under the chairmanship of Education Minister and Vice-Chancellor of the University Krishna Gopal Shrestha.

The committee formed to select the Vice-Chancellor had recommended the names of Dr. Ramkantha Makaju, Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, and Prof. Dr. Balachandra Luintel.

The search committee includes Minister Shrestha, former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana, and former Vice-Chancellor Suresh Raj Sharma. Prada Thapa, who has been teaching at Kathmandu University since its inception, has worked at the university for 27 years. Newly appointed Thapa was dean for 9 years and registrar for 5 years.

Prof. Dr. Thapa, Vice-Chancellor of Mechanical Engineering, has done his Ph.D. in Hydropower Development of Nepal in Norway. Thapa appointed vice-chancellor; He was in the ministry to meet Education, Science, and Technology Minister Shrestha.

He said that he would be involved in the educational upliftment of the university. Stating that he would do everything possible to solve the current problems, he said that he would move forward in collaboration with the former vice-chancellor, professors' union, and others.
