Prime Minister Pushes for Fast-Paced Operation of Geta Medical College in Kailali

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, recently made an announcement regarding the progress of the Geta Medical College in Kailali. During a visit to the college site, Prime Minister Dahal informed the media that the Council of Ministers had taken a theoretical decision to establish the Shaheed Dashrath Chand National University of Health Sciences, which will oversee the operation of the medical college. The Prime Minister stated that the practical steps to run the medical college will now proceed quickly.

Prime Minister Dahal has a history of being involved in development projects in the Far West region of the country, and this time was no different as he visited the area to monitor the progress of the medical college. He expressed that the medical college is being built in Geta, Godavari Municipality-5, to provide high-level health education and healthcare services to the country.

According to Hemraj Pujara, Executive Director of the Medical College Infrastructure Construction Committee, 28 out of 42 structures of the college, as per the master plan, have already been completed and handed over by the construction company. The remaining structures are being handed over and are expected to be completed by June. Small projects such as water supply and road infrastructure are currently underway.

The project's total cost so far has reached Rs.5 billion 45 crores. The construction of the college started in 2066, with a goal of building 600 beds. Prime Minister Dahal stated that there is no need to wait for the establishment of a medical college and the work will proceed rapidly.
