Pokhara University to start affiliated Mahavidyalaya in Chitwan

Pokhara University is going to start affiliated Mahavidyalaya in Chitwan. Discussions have started between the university and Ratnanagar Municipality on Tuesday for the expansion of the affiliated college.

With the joint efforts of the university and the municipality, an integral college will be established on a 2 bigha 2 Kattha land registered in the name of a compulsory free primary school in Ratnanagar Municipality-12 of Chitwan.

The University of Pokhara, in a statement on its website, said, "We will move ahead with the establishment of Angik Mahavidyalaya in Chitwan as soon as possible."

A group of Ratnanagar Municipality Chief Narayan Ban, Deputy Chief Mrs. Vimala Duwadi and almost all the ward chairpersons of the municipality came to the university for the discussion. He requested the political parties, educationists, intellectuals, the general public and the students of Ratnanagar Municipality to take initiative for the operation of the Engineering Campus under Pokhara University as a purely public institution keeping in view the creative suggestions and aspirations of the students.

The university has welcomed the move as a positive step and has expressed commitment to move ahead with the establishment of an organic college in Chitwan as soon as possible.

Agreement for Central Office Expansion: An agreement has been reached between the selected consultants and the university for the expansion of the central office which is being constructed under the master plan of Pokhara University. The agreement concluded in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal; It was signed by the Registrar Dr. Deepak Bahadur Bhandari on behalf of the University and Mr. Indralal Shrestha on behalf of the Consultant.

Shrestha-Grid-CLEC JV has been selected for the design of the two-storey Central Administrative Building within the University Campus at Kaski, Pokhara-30, as well as compound walls and entrances, land development (internal roads, sidewalks, drainage, gardens and parking lots, etc.). An agreement has been signed between Lalitpur and Pokhara University.

As per the agreement, Rs. The design work is to be prepared at a cost of Rs. 1,186,500 will be completed within two months and submitted to the university.
