Pokhara University to Build International Research Center and Residence

An international research center and residence will be built at Pokhara University. The building, which is being constructed as an open international research center and guest house, is being constructed by the Organization of Educational Institutions of Pokhara University Nepal (OPEN) in collaboration with Pokhara University on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the university.

The building will be constructed at a cost of around Rs. The construction is planned to be completed and handed over in two years. The building will have 33 rooms with four floors and all facilities including the entire infrastructure at the rate of 4,000 square feet per floor.

With the objective of overall upliftment of Pokhara University and enhancing the image of the university by making the educational and research environment world-class, 58 colleges affiliated to the university are constructing international level research centers and accommodation houses.

Vice-Chancellor of Pokhara University Prof Dr. Prem Narayan Aryal laid the foundation stone of the building under construction today. Vice-Chancellor Aryal stressed the need to develop the university as a holy place for all and said that the society would prosper only if it was developed. Stating that there is still a need for new research and change in the university, he expressed confidence that the international research center and housing house being constructed by OPEN would take the university to new heights.

Dr. Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, Registrar of the University, stressed the need to work in the same place and in the same group for the development of the university as it is a common institution for all. Dr. Dayaraj Dhakal, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Nawaraj Pandey, President of Open and Founder Principal of Nobel College, Hari Bhandari, Founder Principal of Oxford College of Engineering and Management and Coordinator of Building Construction Committee, Bishnu Pokhrel, Former Head of Lekhnath Municipality, Shri Ram Pokhrel Acting Deputy Administrator Roshan Pandey and others expressed confidence that the research center and housing under construction would help in the overall upliftment of the university.
