Pathao, a ride-sharing app that offers passenger service by motorcycle, has started a taxi service in Kathmandu Valley. Suraksha Hamal, market manager for Pathao, informed that more than 200 taxis have been contracted to serve the passengers.
With the help of Pathao's app, users can call a taxi, like a motorcycle, to get service wherever they want. Hamal said Pathao has updated its mobile app for this. 'Taxi service is started as per customer demand. Like the motorcycle, taxi service will be preferred by the customer, "said Hamal. The customer will have to wait a while for this.
Customers will have to pay more than one hundred rupees meter as a booking charge when using a taxi service. The fare for taxi services will be as per the government's requirement. These cabs will carry passengers on the meter. In addition to the bill, the passenger will have to pay an additional Rs one per kilometer as an incentive.
Pathao has prioritized the safety of passengers and luggage. Hamal says the driver who is affiliated with Pathao has been trained on this matter and complied with it. All the details of the taxi driver will be with the company. Some time ago a passenger died in the Gopikrishna area of Chawhill due to lack of restraint by the taxi driver. The driver has been trained to tackle such tragedy.
Monitoring is done through live location tracks to control possible unpleasant activity while traveling. Passengers and companies do not have the problem of getting lost and missing as they have taxi and driver details. Pathao's taxi service will be available for 24 hours. Pathao's motorcycle sharing service has recently become popular in the city. According to Hamal, the Patho app has been downloaded more than five million times.
It has more than 30 thousand motorcyclists. Pathao is very popular in Bangladesh due to ride-sharing services, luggage delivery, food delivery services through the app. It started service in Nepal from 2018 October. Apart from Patho in Nepal, Sarathi, Easy Taxi Nepal are already providing taxi service.
