It is not enough to become a school teacher only by studying the Faculty of Education. Those who want to become teachers must take professional training. The National Education Policy that includes this provision has been approved by a meeting of the Council of Ministers at Kartik 18.

Academic and professional degrees are integrated into the curriculum of the Faculty of Education. By completing a certain education level, a licensed person has been able to compete in teacher exams. After completing a certain time teaching practice while studying at a university, their professional degree is considered complete.

Now, after passing a certain level of the university, a separate professional degree should be taken, said spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Deepak Sharma. According to him, the policy is not clear on how long the training will be. "Most people in abroad generally recognize one year of professional training," says Sharma, adding, "This is probably the case in Nepal. It cannot be harvested unless further laws are in place. '

According to the faculty of the university, the training will be different. 'There can be a kind of professional training for those who have studied science at the postgraduate level,' he says, 'who may be of a different kind to those who have studied education, commerce or other subjects.'

For the first time after almost a year's workout, the integrated policy has been incorporated from school to higher-level education. There is also an arrangement to form a powerful higher education council under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister. The council will regulate university-level education. Until recently, the Grants Commission has been the regulatory body of the university level. The Commission has accused the universities of failing to regulate.

There is also a policy for teachers of Child Development Centers to have minimum qualifications like the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). So far, only those who have passed class 8 have the provision of becoming a center teacher. Minister of Education Science and Technology Girirajmani Pokhrel said that those who have been appointed teachers but only those who have minimum qualification up to grade 8 will be given the opportunity to increase their qualification by giving fixed time.

The policy is to provide opportunities for the promotion of school teachers. For this, the capacity, experience, educational qualifications and competencies of the teachers will be made the mainstay, said Minister Pokhrel. Prior to this, teachers appointed at primary, lower secondary or secondary levels were upgraded on the basis of teaching duration and qualification. At the top level, there was no opportunity for automatic promotion. The policy gives the state and local government the authority to create additional tariffs. However, the policy also mentioned that the stipulations distributed by the center should create additional rates only if the teacher is inadequate.

The Government has adopted a policy of conducting a convenient National Science School to extend science and technology education in secondary education. The provisions contained in the policy will go into the implementation phase only after the National Education Act and Rules are framed. The ministry said that the act would be moved forward soon.

Commission report secretly:

Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokhrel has not been able to answer 'satisfying' as the report of the Higher Education Commission has not been made public. The report was prepared under the chairmanship of Minister Pokhrel. The Prime Minister's Office has kept the report secret, with many suggestions for improving education from early child development to university.

The minister said that education policy should be formulated on this basis. He said the government was not obliged to accept all the suggestions given by the Commission's report. 'The Commission is not all-powerful. This means that the government may not accept everything, 'he says. - Source: Annapurnapost
