Online Driving License Registration Open:
The government has started the process of examining the driver's license of the vehicle which has been closed for the past nine months. The Department of Transport Management has opened the form of driver's license in the quota system through online medium.
Dr. Loknath Bhusal, the spokesperson of the department, informed that the online form has been opened from Tuesday by making arrangements to follow the health-related standards issued by the Ministry of Health and Population, Government of Nepal.
The form can be filled from the link on the department's website or online through www.onlineedlreg.dotm.gov.np from 6 am to 10 pm. The department has stated that the form can be filled only in case of quota. The department has stated that once the form is filled if it is not completed within the stipulated time, the form can be re-filled only after 15 days.
The department had postponed the written and experimental examination of the license after the government locked down for coronavirus prevention and control from 24th March 2020. Even though the government office has been open since then, the examination process for the driving license could not be opened.
The Transportation Management Office has been providing vehicle registration and renewal services by opening the office since last July. For a long time, the service recipients were complaining that their licenses were not opened. Under normal circumstances, the rush for licenses has been postponed for nine months and now the pressure is going to increase. But the department has opened the form in the quota system.
The department has stated that the application has been opened by setting quota saying that the risk of Corona has not been removed yet. The department had earlier written to all the offices to be ready for the examination. It was said to be ready with PPE, face shield, mask, sanitizer etc. for the protection of corona infection.
Now, the department has stated that it is preparing to get the new license of those who have passed the trial within a month. In the past, even those who passed the trial had to wait a long time to get a license due to delays in printing.

- Re-Registration after expiry of appointment date of Transport Management Office visit will be allowed only after 15 days
