For that, the police have prepared a preliminary outline of the security plan with the budget demand.

According to the blueprint, preparations have been made to call for temporary (Myadi) police recruitment so that the number does not increase to one lakh for the upcoming election. Earlier, in the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held in 2074 BS, Nepal Police had recruited 98,268 temporary police personnel.

In the last election, the police had given priority to experienced people including ex-army, ex-police, and security guards. Similarly, a person between the ages of 18 and 54 who is literate, physically fit, has no party affiliation, and has not been charged with any criminal offense was considered eligible to become a temporary police officer in the previous election.

The Myadi Police would be provided the same salary and ration allowance as the police personnel. In the last election, the monthly salary of a temporary police officer was fixed at Rs 17,230. Similarly, Myadi Prahari personnel were provided with uniforms in addition to their salaries and uniforms. When the police call for temporary recruitment, they have fixed their tenure.

A few days ago, the Police Headquarters had formed a 37-member Central Election Preparation and Coordination Committee headed by Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Bishwaraj Pokharel.
