Nursing Program at community School

Health and nursing services have been implemented in five schools of Baglung Municipality for the health problems and awareness of the students.

Janakraj Poudel, chief of the municipality informed that there was an agreement between the Nursing Division of the Ministry of Health, the municipality and the five schools for the purpose of operating the nursing and health services at various local levels in Nepal.

Nursing and healthcare programs have been implemented in Vidya Mandir, Rudrepipal, Ganesh, Baudechaur and Titaure Secondary Schools. According to the Nursing Department of the Ministry, necessary medicines and general equipment will be arranged in the school along with one nurse each.

Based on the indicators such as the geographical condition of the school, the number of students and healthcare distance, the schools were selected in the first phase, said Bala Rai, administrator of the division. "We have come up with a new concept to provide health care right from the school level," Rai told, ​​"from the standard of care of the girl child to the primary care in the event of an accidental accident."

The Nursing Division will provide nurses' accommodations, medicines and all necessary items in the school. One year after the program was started, Nursing Administrator Rai informed that there was a plan to transfer the state and local government according to the procedure.

Following the agreement of this service, the advertisement will be implemented immediately according to the tariff. Administrator Rai, Dandpani Sharma, the chief administrative officer for the municipality and the Principal of the school concerned had signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Nursing Health Services. According to the Department of Nursing, the Nursing Health Service has started implementing Nursing Health Services in one, two and three schools in some local level schools. The Ministry of Health launched the program in the Baglung Municipality of Gandaki province.

Nursing healthcare is expected to benefit students who are far from accessing healthcare. Through the program, information about essential food, exercise, medicine treatment services will be made available.
