NTC Voice and Internet Package for Students (Class 1 to 10):
According to the Emergency Action Plan 2077 on School Education prepared by the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Nepal Telecom will provide services at very affordable rates to help the school going children in learning by creating an environment conducive to their environment.
Under this, Nepal Telecom, in coordination with the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), is going to provide the company's prepaid mobile 'Pathshala CUG SIM' free of cost for the purpose of establishing learning link between government and community school teachers and students.
Teachers, students, and parents of each school are affiliated to the company's Closed User Group (CUG) and a monthly deposit of Rs. In 99, 5 GB data service and bulk SMS facility will be provided to run unlimited communication within a closed group, the website of education, and the human resource development center (www.learning.cehrd.gov.np).
All courses and materials for grades 1 to 10 will be available on the Education and Human Resource Development Centre's website (www.learning.cehrd.gov.np).
The prepaid SIM card will allow unlimited chats between teachers, students, and parents, run the web portal of the Education and Human Resource Development Center for free and send bulk SMS for educational purposes.
For the purpose of forming a corporate user group, every household studying in a public school will be given a SIM card and the phone number of the SIM card of each teacher of that school will be collected, these phone numbers of each school will be included in the Closed User Group (CUG) service And service providers in partnership.
If a student, teacher or family member of a school does not have a SIM of Nepal Telecom, the company will provide the SIM-free of cost as per the demand.
Required Document to use this service: A photocopy of the citizenship and identity card of the teacher and student, a photocopy of the citizenship of the parent and a photocopy should be available for the free SIM card received by each student and teacher under this service. Students can also get the SIM card in their own name or in the name of the parents.
The 'Pathshala CUG SIM' provided to the students or parents can be obtained from the nearest office of the nearest Nepal Telecommunication Company by taking the recommendation from the local body on the duly filled form. Similarly, the company will also provide a toll-free number at concessional rates as far as possible from a technical point of view.
After the Center for Education and Human Resource Development compiled and sent a list of public schools that do not have internet service, including the Rural Municipality, Nepal Telecom will study and pilot the provision of internet service through wireless broadband technology in schools; Mobile and FTTH will expand in those places as per its action plan.
