NSC Unveiled the Logo, Mascot, and Slogan of Ninth National Games

The National Sports Council (NSC) has unveiled the logo, mascot, and slogan of the Ninth National Games. NSC Chairman Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj unveiled the logo, mascot, and slogan at NSC on Saturday.

The logo and mascot were selected by a five-member committee formed under the coordination of Ekendra Kunwar, a member of the board and executive committee of the National Sports Council (NSC). The selected logo and mascot were made by Bholanath Poudyal, 62, a resident of Maitidevi, Kathmandu. The members of the committee are academic artist Ramesh Nath Khanal, head of Nobel Academy Arts Department Bipin Raj Shrestha and head of Shreejana College of Fine Arts Prof. Radheshyam Mulmi and member-secretary is head of Sports Competition and Planning Department under NSC Meenkumar Sharma.

In the logo, Machhapuchhre Himal is lined up. The sky blue line represents the dove, a symbol of peace, and the four red lines represent the dove's wing and track. Poudyal said that the 4 lines also represented Gandaki Pradesh (Province No. 4). The lunar sun reflects the national flag and represents all the teams.

The m deer is an endangered and protected animal found in Gandaki as a mascot. Suyogyaraj Kafle's slogan 'United Country, Message of Sports' has been passed. The logo was awarded Rs 50,000, the mascot Rs 25,000, and the slogan Rs 10,000 in cash.

The Ninth National Games will be held in Gandaki from 22nd to 28th Jestha 2079 (5 June to 11 June 2022). 11 teams will participate in 36 different games.
