Norwegian University and Zenith School Collaborate for Inclusive Education Exchange in Dharan
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) team has arrived at Zenith English Boarding School, Dharan-16 Stadium Line, to exchange inclusive education. Zenith School and NTNU have been cooperating in teaching and learning for the past seven years.
First Visit After Covid-19
After the Covid-19 pandemic, the University team has come to Dharan for the first time. Ms. Oda, Kristina, Forgensen, Maria, Silje, Selina, and Jeanne, who are part of the team, were welcomed by Zenith Director Suman Zavegu, Principal Pooja Tamrakar, and other teachers and students on Wednesday.
Programs for Inclusive Education
Various programs will be held for students with intellectual disabilities under the inclusive education program for two weeks. The program includes sharing the teaching methods and styles of their respective countries with each other.
Child-friendly and Disabled-friendly Environment
In this course, classes will be conducted in a child-friendly and disabled-friendly environment. The purpose of the program is to exchange the manners of their countries and entertain the students by playing various games.
Preparing Students for Global Competitions
According to Principal Tamrakar, the university aims to prepare students to be able citizens who can compete with every citizen of the world in a fearless environment. Zenith is the first and only school in Dharan to implement inclusive education.
In conclusion, the collaboration between Zenith School and NTNU is a great opportunity for students with intellectual disabilities to experience inclusive education and for the exchange of teaching methods between the countries. The initiative to prepare students to be competitive globally will benefit the students in the long run.
