Nepal Health Research Council Call for Applications for Awards

On the occasion of its establishment day, the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) will continue its tradition of honoring contributions during the 11th National Summit of Health and Population Scientists in Nepal, scheduled for 10–12 April 2025.

This year, like in previous years, NHRC invites applications from Nepali scientists for various awards. The deadline to apply is within seven (7) days from the date of publication of this notice, i.e., by 2081/12/22.

List of Awards and Eligibility Criteria:

1. Health Research Award

• The researcher must be a Nepali citizen.

• The study must have been conducted in Nepal.

• Must include publications in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2020 – December 2024).

2. Young Health Researcher Award

• Must be a Nepali citizen under the age of 40 years.

• The study must have been conducted in Nepal.

• Must include publications in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2020 – December 2024).

3. Mrigendra Samjhana Medical Trust Young Health Research Award (Medical Doctor Category)

• Must be a Nepali citizen under the age of 40 years.

• Must be a medical doctor.

• The study must have been conducted in Nepal.

• Must include publications in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2020 – December 2024).

4. Mrigendra Samjhana Medical Trust Young Health Research Award (NHRC Staff Category)

• Must be a Nepali citizen continuously working at NHRC for at least one year.

• The study must have been conducted in Nepal.

• Must include publications in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2020 – December 2024).

5. Health Journalist Award

• Must be a Nepali citizen journalist.

• Must have published or broadcast articles or scientific content related to health.

• Must have been continuously active in the field for the past five years.

• Must include complete published/broadcast content from January 2020 to December 2024.

6. Gopal Prasad Acharya Research Award

• The researcher must be a Nepali citizen working in the health-related field.

• Must be under the age of 25 years.

• The study must have been conducted in Nepal.

• Must be currently studying at the bachelor's level or have completed a bachelor's degree within one year.

• NHRC-related individuals are not eligible.

• Must include publications in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the past one year (January 2024 – December 2024).

Required Documents:

1. Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate

2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

3. Full published papers with PubMed ID or link

4. Declaration that the applicant has not been declared ineligible under any Nepali law
