New Anthology 'Jharanako Pani' by Poet Gopal Paudyal 'Mandane' Enriches Nepali Literature
Kathmandu, Nepal - In a significant addition to Nepali literature, Poet Gopal Paudyal, popularly known as 'Mandane', has launched his latest collection titled 'Jharanako Pani'. The anthology, a rich compendium of 101 muktaks (a form of Nepali verse), was unveiled on 17th December 2023, amidst a special ceremony attended by esteemed literary figures.
The event saw the presence of senior writers Mohan Duwal and Surya Prasad Lakoju, who honored the literary gathering by releasing the work. Duwal, serving as the chief guest, praised the enduring appeal of muktak poetry, highlighting its unique ability to captivate readers with its brevity and depth.
Ramsundar Deuja, offering a critical perspective, acclaimed 'Jharanako Pani' for its authentic portrayal of Nepalese society. Tuyukaji Tamrakar added to the accolades, remarking on Mandane's significant contribution to Nepali literature. Paudyal himself shared insights into his work, suggesting that the muktaks in the collection encapsulate the essence of human experience and emotion, allowing them to resonate profoundly with readers.
The anthology's diverse muktaks touch upon themes of patriotism, culture, nature, social harmony, and morality, woven with a common thread of promoting social values and national identity. This publication marks Poet Mandane's continued influence in the literary world, adding to his already impressive repertoire of two dozen published works across various genres.
