Nepali Youth Honored by National Youth Icon Award 2019 in India

 

Nepalgunj resident Youth Mohammad Irfan Rai has been honored with the National Youth Icon Award 2019 in India.

Rai, who has been active in the field of youth entrepreneurship and empowerment for a long time, was honored with the National Youth Icon Award 2019 by the International Youth Committee, India, for his role in social change.

International Youth Committee Chairman Jayant Patra presented the award at the World Youth Conference held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on Friday evening, said Rai.

Of the 1,400 young people in the world nominated for this year, 79 were given the National Youth Icon Award, he said. Earlier this year, the International Youth Committee, which has been conferring the award to Indian youth only, has started awarding it to foreign nationals.

Rai, who was honored, started working in the field of youth entrepreneurship and empowerment from the remote district of Jumla.

Rai was awarded the Global Youth Peace Ambassador by the Maldives Government, Ministry of Youth and Sports, honored by the International Youth Committee, active in national policymaking, along with academicians from different fields, university professors, youths.

Stating that he was very excited to receive the Youth Icon Award, he said it has encouraged the work of the youth empowerment sector.

He urged the youth from all over the country to be active in changing society while emphasizing that only the youth can take on the important responsibility of social change.

Rai of Nepalgunj received the honor, the Banke youth responded that the honor has increased the respect of not only the district but also the youth of the country.

Irfan said that the honored youth of Banke took inspiration from them, saying that it has inspired them to become more active in the field of social change, said Ashish Burma, a local youth leader in Nepalgunj.
