Nepali Football Team to Leave Iraq for a Friendly Match

Nepali football team is going to Iraq tonight to play a friendly match. The Nepali football team is going to Iraq from Qatar Airways at 10 pm for a friendly match with Iraq.

According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Nepal will play a friendly match against Iraq on May 29. After playing the game, the Nepali team will go to Kuwait from Iraq to play in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. National team coach Abdullah Almutairi had selected 23 players for the friendly match, World Cup qualifiers, and Asian Cup qualifiers.

Earlier, in the first phase, 32 players were involved in closed training. According to ANFA, the Nepali team's PCR was tested before flying to Iraq and everyone's report was negative.

Nepal, which is in Group B, is scheduled to play Chinese Taipei on June 3, Jordan on June 7, and Australia on June 11, according to ANFA. In the World Cup qualifiers, Nepal has so far won one of the five matches and lost four.

Kiran Chemjong, Vishal Sunar, and Deep Karki are the goalkeepers of the Nepali team, Rohit Chand, Anant Tamang, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Gautam Shrestha, Suman Aryal and Bikas Khawas are the defenders, Bishal Rai, Manish Dangi, Eric Bista, Kamal Thapa, Santosh Tamang, and Suman Lama are the midfielders. Sunil Bal, Suraj Jiu Thakuri, Pujan Uparkoti and Ayush Ghalan and forwards are Abhishek Rijal, Anjan Bista, Navyug Shrestha and Ashish Lama. The Nepali team will return to Nepal on June 12.
