The Nepali Congress has made public its national education policy with a proposal that a person who cannot give time to the university should not become the chancellor of 11 universities of the country. In order to make the education sector quality, it has been proposed in the policy that teachers, professors, and students will not be allowed to join any party.

The Nepali Congress Department of Education has submitted the proposal of the education policy to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba after two years of direct meetings and discussions with various experts, educationists, students, parents, teachers' associations, schools, and provinces.

In the 116-page education policy proposal, it is proposed to end the political interference in the university to make the university fully autonomous and to change the system of the Prime Minister to be the Vice-Chancellor and the Minister of Education to be the Vice-Chancellor.

Nepal says that Prime Minister Deuba also took interest in the issue while submitting the education policy to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. ‘There are 11 universities in operation in the country.

Our two-year study showed that the Prime Minister could not give time to a university. The head of the department, Nepal, said, "We have brought this issue to the notice of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba."

In addition, for the academic and academic advancement of the University, a Commission of Higher Education or Council of at least seven members should be formed under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister; The academic person should be made the vice-chairman of the higher education commission or council; At least a five-member Higher Education Commission for the election of the Chairperson of the Grants Commission and the Chancellor or Chairperson of the University; Or it is suggested to form a group of council officials and members and academics.

"Appointments to the university, including office-bearers, should be made by academics and the Vice-Chairman of the Higher Education Commission or Council on the recommendation of the Higher Education Commission or Council members," the education policy proposes. It has also been proposed to make the vice-chancellors, deans, professors and others working in the university responsible for their own work and to make provision for the professors to submit at least two research articles and compositions to the department in a year.

Krishna Prasad Poudel, central secretary of the department, said that the school and university teachers, professors and students have been barred from joining any party due to increasing political interference in school education. ‘Now the country is led by the Nepali Congress.

Nepal cannot move forward unless education is given priority. Secretary Poudel said, "Teachers, professors and students have been barred from joining the party to prevent the political sector from interfering in party politics."

He added, "For this, a policy has been proposed to allow education to run smoothly by establishing a teachers' council, faculty council and student welfare council."
