Nepal Scout Announces Local Scout Committee in all the Schools of 753 Local Levels
The Nepal Scout is now going to build scout structures in all the schools in all the 753 municipalities of the country. The Nepal Scout held a press conference here on Wednesday and informed that preparations have been made to expand it to the local body level with the objective of harmonizing it with the current state structure of the country.
According to Lok Bahadur Bhandari, National Coordinator of Scouts, the scouts formed in 2009 have been active in a limited area in the past but are being expanded to all municipalities with the objective of making them active across the country. He said that the scout, which was shrinking in the traditional structure, had the opportunity to move with the new structure as per the demand of the time. Coordinator Bhandari said, "Scout activities have increased at the national and international level now as compared to the past. As a result, the international relations of Nepal Scouts, which has been inactive for a long time, have reached a new height."
Under the local structure, at least one scout committee will be formed in each school. Through these committees, students will receive training on discipline, ways to avoid addiction, activism in social work, and physical and mental development.
In the history of scouts, more than 50,000 scout volunteers have been mobilized this fiscal year alone and are active in social work ranging from cobweb epidemics to corpse management, said Bhandari.
