
Nepal Rastra Bank, Currency Management Department, Notice Regarding the Circulation of Rs. 5 Banknotes
Nepal Rastra Bank is issuing Rs. 5 denomination banknotes, in the same size and color as before, bearing serial numbers from 45000001 to 18999999. The note includes the promissory clause: “Nepal Rastra Bank will pay the bearer on demand the sum of five rupees guaranteed by the Government of Nepal.” The notes will be circulated from 2nd Baisakh, 2082, and this notice is published for public information.
On the front side of the note:

On the left side, there is an image of Mount Everest.

On the right side is a rhododendron watermark (Laliguras).

The signature of the then Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari appears at the designated place.

The note's series number on the lower border is written in Nepali as "2081 BS".
On the back side of the note:

At the top center, "NEPAL RASTRA BANK" is written in English.

In the middle, there is an image of a wild yak and the Himalayas of the Limi region in Humla District.

On the lower border, "RUPEES FIVE" is written in English.

The note's series number on the lower border is written in English as "2024 A.D."
Note:
Previously, a notice was issued stating that banknotes of Rs. 5 denomination (Series 2020) bearing serial numbers from 000001 to 999999 would be brought into circulation from 10th Mangsir, 2077. However, only the notes with serial numbers from 000001 to 560000 have been brought into circulation.
