Nepal Railway Company Permanent Appointment Process Instead of Contract:

The process of hiring permanent staff for the operation of the Kurtha-Janakpur-Jayanagar railway service has started. Earlier, the contract staff had informed to recruit staff to operate the train service immediately.

Guruprasad Bhattarai, General Manager of Nepal Railway Company, informed that the recruitment process has been expedited as a permanent staff is needed to run the railway service permanently. He said, "Applications were called for a six-month contract, but since the contract has to be re-hired and there is a lot of hassle if employees do not want to leave the job after the contract expires, there will be various hassles if contract employees are fired."

He clarified that the recruitment of permanent staff is being done at the same time to make the recruitment non-controversial and to provide stability to the railway operation.

Earlier, Nepal Railway Company had invited applications for the recruitment of 129 contract employees in 29 posts including station master, TT, cashier, guard, administration, and accounting. Till the last day of calling for applications, 32 thousand 686 people had applied. The last date to apply was Ashoj12.

“The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Public Service Commission are currently in the final stages of recruitment for permanent staff; It will be finalized this week, "he said." Those who have now applied for the contract will automatically participate in the permanent staff recruitment process, while other applicants will be invited to re-apply and the examination process will start at the same time.
