Nepal Police has distributed honors and prizes to the medal winners of the 9th National Games 2022. Inspector General of Police Singh, who is also the chairman of the sports committee, distributed honors and cash prizes to the players and officials who won gold, silver, and bronze medals in various categories of the competition in a ceremony held at the Nepal Police Headquarters on 11th December 2022.

Addressing the ceremony, Inspector General Singh discussed that the dignity of the Nepal Police Organization is increasing due to the participation of the Nepal Police in various national and international level competitions and achieving excellent results.

Representing the Nepal Police, he highly appreciated the hard work, effort, perseverance, and dedication of the players in the competition and mentioned that the players should continue with the struggle, sacrifice, penance, and sadhana behind the success.

He urged the players to contribute to the organization's growth, greater welfare, and institutional development by developing into stronger and better players by enhancing their potential.

Discussing that the responsibilities under the police profession are multifaceted, Inspector General Singh said that it is the primary responsibility of all police personnel to be ready to perform whatever responsibilities are assigned by the organization and the state with determination and dutifulness.

He said that even the medal-winning athletes have made a great contribution to the recently concluded House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly member elections in a peaceful, fair and fearless environment.

Stating that the Nepal Police Sports Committee needs to be equally active and proactive in order to increase the capacity and morale of the players through effective training and management, he said that it is the policy of the Nepal Police to provide an important platform by joining the best players in the organization and with the participation of the best players, the performance of the Nepal Police will be strengthened in the future. expressed hope.

In the ceremony, Member Secretary of Nepal Police Sports Committee and Executive Director of the National Police Training Academy, Maharajganj, Additional Inspector General of Police Sahkul Bahadur Thapa gave a welcome speech and said that Nepal Police is contributing to the development of the nation's sports by participating in various sports activities and producing national and international players.

In the competition held in various districts of Gandaki province from August 28th to October 3rd, 2079, the participating athletes from Nepal Police won 61 gold, 61 silver, and 72 bronze medals and managed to achieve third place.

The Nepal Police Sports Committee awarded the winning athletes 10,000 rupees to the single event gold medal winner, 7,000 rupees to the silver medal winner and 5,000 rupees to the bronze medal winner. For the group event, the gold medalist has been awarded Rs 7,000, the silver medalist Rs 5,000 and the bronze medalist Rs 3,000.

Similarly, 8 players who have succeeded in setting national records in various sports have been given additional cash of Rs.5,000 each. In the ninth national sports competition, 495 athletes participated in 29 games on behalf of the Nepal Police. Out of which 198 were female and 297 were male players and 92 were officials, a total of 587 players and officials participated.

In the competition, Police Assistant Inspector Tara Devi Pun, Police Assistant Constables Bikas Thapa and Mui Lama, and Police Constables Junumaya Chantyal, Bidya Rai, Bishal Singh Bist, Sandesh Gurung, and Chandrakala Lamgade managed to set a new national record.

The ceremony was attended by the Additional Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Senior Police Officers, Sportsmen affiliated with Nepal Police, and other police officers.
