Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Conducted 'Nutrition Class' for Players and Coaches:

The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) on Friday briefed the athletes, who received scholarships for the Tokyo Olympics, and their coaches on nutrition classes.

Weightlifting coach Sanjay Maharjan provided various nutritional information to the players and coaches. Earlier, NOC general secretary Narendra Raj Shrestha had said that information about nutrition in the training and practice of players was necessary. NOC Vice President and Executive Director Chaturanandaraj Vaidya was present on the occasion.

The event was attended by 12 players and three coaches. Twelve athletes from seven sports have received Olympic scholarships in the process of representing Nepal in the Tokyo Olympics starting in July 2021. The Olympic scholarship recipients include Anu Adhikari and Navin Rasaili of Karate, Gyanu Awale and Tilak Punmagar of Archery, Bir Bahadur Mahara of Taekwondo, Susmita Nepal and Kalpana Pariyar of Shooting, Kamala Shrestha and Sanju Chaudhary of Weightlifting, Gaurika Singh and Alex Shah of Swimming and Indra Bahadur Shrestha of Judo.

Gopichandra Parki of Athletics, who was not in the scholarship program, also participated in the program. So far, Gaurika Singh and Alex Shah of Swimming and Gopichandra Parki of Athletics have been nominated by Nepal.
