National Examination Board (NEB) Set to Announce Secondary Education Examination (SEE) Results Today
The National Examination Board (NEB) is poised to release the much-anticipated results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for the academic year 2079/2080. The Board has confirmed that all preparations for the announcement have been finalized, and if all goes according to plan, students should be able to access their results by this evening.
Final Stages of Result Compilation
Bishnunarayan Shrestha, the Controller of Examinations of Class 10 from the Examination Control Office, shed light on the thorough process undertaken to reach this point. The meticulous process involves completing the examination of answer books, then proceeding to upload the marks into the computer system. This is followed by a rigorous verification and registration procedure. Shrestha stated, "The only thing standing between us and the announcement of the SEE results is potential technical problems. If there are none, the results will be out today."
Grading System: Last Call for the 2072 System
The NEB has indicated that this will be the final time results will be published according to the 2072 BS system. Under this system, a student can pass if they achieve a combined 35 percent in both theory and practical examinations. The grading structure ranges from A plus for those scoring 90 to 100 percent, down to an E grade for those scoring less than 20 percent.
From next year, however, a new system introduced in 2078 will take over. This system requires students to attain at least 35 percent in theoretical subjects, and those scoring below this in all subjects will be considered non-graded.
SEE 2079/2080: By the Numbers
The SEE exams, held from Chaitra 17th to 29th, 2079, saw an impressive 485,396 students from 12,83 public and private schools across the nation sit for the examinations at 2,37 centers. The gender representation was almost equal with 242,712 female students and 242,674 male students participating. An additional 15,461 candidates from the technical side also took part in the SEE.
