NEB Announces Class 12 Grade Increment Examination Schedule

The National Examination Board (NEB) has recently announced its plans to conduct the Grade Increment Examination for Class 12 students. This examination is scheduled for Ashoj 6 and 7 (September 23-24, 2023). Here's everything you need to know:

Who is Eligible?

  • Students who obtained a non-grade (NG) in the Class 12 examination.
  • Specifically, 123,396 students who failed in two subjects are eligible.
  • Additionally, 79,584 students who obtained NG in just one subject can also participate.

Subjects with the Highest Non-Graders

  • English topped the list with a staggering 109,527 students obtaining a non-grade.
  • To pass any subject in Class 12, students must secure at least 35% marks.

Not Satisfied with Your Result? Here's What You Can Do:

  • The board offers an option to have your result re-evaluated for a fee of 500 rupees per subject. This must be done within 15 days of receiving your result.
  • Member Secretary Durga Aryal further added that students can also request to view their answer book and opt for a re-examination.

Re-examination Process:

  • The re-testing will be conducted by three new examiners, different from the original examiner.
  • The final score will be the average of the marks given by these three examiners.
  • If the new score deviates by 10 percent or more from the original score, the previous score will be retained. However, if the deviation is less than 10 percent, the new score will be considered.

The National Examination Board is taking proactive steps to ensure that every student gets a fair chance to improve their grades. If you're a student or a guardian, make sure to mark the examination dates and understand the re-evaluation process thoroughly.
