National Police Academy Initiates 149 Inspectors in Convocation Ceremony
149 New Police Inspectors Initiated
On May 24, 2024 (2081 Jestha 11), the National Police Academy in Maharajgunj celebrated the convocation of the Basic Training 1-182nd (Post Graduate Diploma in Police Science 13th) batch. The ceremony marked the initiation of 149 new inspectors, including 18 women.
Prime Minister Dahal Honors Top Trainees
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane attended the event. Prime Minister Dahal presented the prestigious 'Kulanand Vidya Utsavla Award' to Pawan Kumar Pariyar, who excelled throughout the training period and topped in kawaz (drill performance).

Additional Inspector General of Police, Sudeep Giri, the executive director of the academy, administered the oath to the new trainees. The ceremony featured kawaz performances and musical tunes by the Nepal Police Music School.

The event was attended by Federal MP and former Inspector General of Police Dhruv Bahadur Pradhan, Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma, Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department Hutraj Thapa, and other dignitaries including senior officers, journalists, and the families of the trainees.
