National Assembly Approved Bill to Amend Some Nepal Act on Education

The proposal "Amendment of some Nepal Act on Education Bill, consider 2075" has been consistently approved by the House. At a meeting of the House of Representatives today, Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel presented the proposal related to the message received from the National Assembly.

Taking part in the theoretical discussion on the bill, MP Pushpa Bhusal said that education should not only be free but also compulsory, and MP Khagaraj Adhikari said that the attacks on education and culture should be reached through open discussion on how to go structurally. He believed that the Bill should be centered on educating fully literate.

MP Bhusal also demanded that the representation of women in the sign language should be made compulsory and free in education and in determining the policy of education.

Likewise, MP Gagan Kumar Thapa said that 62 thousand students were given away for education last year. He said that arrangements should be made for providing quality education in the country. "It has been reiterated that the past mistakes and shortcomings have to be corrected, the right character should be brought to the university; politics and division should not be taken while appointing office-bearers this year as all past government mistakes have been made," he said.

Lawmaker Tejulal Chaudhary demanded that the umbrella of education be made law and made clear arrangements as the university, which was opened to teach Buddhist philosophy, was also teaching engineering.

MP Sher Bahadur Tamang demanded that the basic level of education should be compulsory and free, and said that allowing private schools would be contrary to the law once the secondary level education is called free. Tamang also demanded that proportional inclusive representation be made when appointed office bearers of the university.

Lawyer Prem Suwal demanded that the professor be responsible for ending the practice of sending him as the Vice-Chancellor of the university.

MP Rekha Kumari emphasized that education should be made accessible to all classes of citizens so that they can study. Responding to the issue raised by the lawmaker, Education Minister Pokhrel said that preparations were being made for bringing the umbrella act on higher education or education. He was committed to correcting all the parties agreed that there was a mistake in appointing the university during the transition period. It has a new system of government or transfer of private schools to the public system within a certain time.
